Flower delivery in NYC: 16 best online stores

1. Ode à la Rose

Best for: Preserved roses and small attentions flower bouquets

Whether you’re ordering for a few blocks down or outside of NYC, these guys have got you covered. Founded by Louis Brunet and Olivier Plusquellec in 2011, the very French Ode à la Rose delivers some seriously lovely-looking bouquets for Valentine's Day, both within NYC and beyond. The website is ordered by occasion, color, and price, so you’ll certainly find something for whatever you’re looking for. And the best part? They all come hand-tied in Ode à la Rose’s signature little box. Perfect.

Where they deliver: Delivery all over NYC? You bet. And if you just so happen to need a last-minute miracle, Ode à la Rose also offers same-day delivery.

Why we like them: It's a sumptuous slice of Paris in the Big Apple. Incredibly eye-catching, each Ode à la Rose bouquet is elegant, striking and delicate. Our favourite? Sabine. Just wow.

What’s the price point: Find the perfect bouquet from $58.

2. ProFlowers

Best for: colorful floral arrangements and birthday cupcakes

These guys are the experts when it comes great-value flower delivery. You can bag yourself a beautiful bouquet for as little as $40, ranging from stunning roses to grow-your-own wildflowers and even terrariums, filled with your very own botanical ecosystem. ProFlowers deliver same and next-day all over the country too (so it’s not just lucky New Yorkers that get to benefit from your generosity) and they offer a superb range of add-ons to make your gift even more special. Think irresistible Belgian chocolate-dipped Oreo cookies and 3D pop-up cards.

Where they deliver: They've got almost all of the US and Canada covered, as well as international shipping options too.

Why we like them: What can we say? We're a sucker for a pop of colour, and these bouquets certainly know how to hit the mark, with one to suit just about every mood. But if you're not sure what to go for, their long-stem roses always work a treat.

What’s the price point: Make yours or someone else's day from $40 for a bouquet.

3. The Bouqs Co

Best for: corporate gifting and weddings

These eco-friendly flower sellers ensure that all their blooms come directly from farms, which means that your flowers will arrive as fresh as possible. Also, the fact that they remove the middleman means that those savings are passed to you. So that’s pretty neat, right? Oh and if you're after something a little more long-lasting, opt for delivery of one of the ‘dried collection’ options and your blooms will last for up to a year. A great way to express your never-dying love.

Where they deliver: Along with standard delivery, there's same-day delivery all over NYC when you get your order in before noon. Score.

Why we like them: With irresistible names like Vanilla Cake and Butter Pecan how could you not want to get your hands on one of these trendy, beautifully handcrafted bouquets?

What’s the price point: Arrangements start from $54 without a subscription, and from $38 for subscribers.

4. FTD

Best for: gift basket sets and baked goods.

Founded in 1910 with just ten florists in the collective, FTD (Florists’ Transworld Delivery, if you’re wondering) has since grown from telegraph deliveries locally to online deliveries worldwide. They may not be as classy as Starbright or Winston’s, but they’re not as pricey either. For very affordable prices, you can get the prettiest blooms to make someone swoon. When we got our bouquets from Cress Flowers & Events in Queens, they arrived fresh (and smelling like they’d just been picked) inside glass vases, one of which had a painted gold base. The most breathtaking bouquet was themed after “a Parisian stroll” with vibrant roses, hydrangeas, and alstroemerias. But if you really want to melt their heart, we recommend topping off the bouquet with a dozen chocolate-smothered strawberries. Very moreish.

Where they deliver: All over NYC and then some. Panic gifters they've got you; same-day is available on orders in before 2 pm on weekdays and 1 pm on weekends.

Why we like them: The many themes for all occasions, including the vague but oh-so-lovely 'cheer someone up'.

What’s the price point: Floral arrangements start from $40.
