Anna’s has been dishing out home-style Mexican street food flavors since 1995. With several locations around the Boston area, it’s easy to get your hands on flavorful tacos or giant, filling burritos. Start with your main filling—options include steak roja, spicy chile verde pork, chicken ranchero, grilled veggies, and even tongue—then add on your toppings (guacamole, sour cream, and the like). Are dating apps on the way out? Younger generations are increasingly turning away from dating apps as in-person events for singles gain popularity. A new report by Eventbrite reveals that attendance at in-person events geared towards singles and dating increased 42% from last year. So, where are Millennials and Gen Zers looking to find love if they're no longer swiping? Eventbrite’s report shows that Millennials and Gen Zers have soured on dating apps because the apps make it hard to find people who share their interests. There’s also a safety concern, as many people misrepresent themselves or even hide their true identity on dating apps. They seek genuine connections, which is easier to achieve at in-person events. Speed dating has increased in popularity, and Gen Z and Millennials are seeking out more authentic events that revolve around specific interests so they can find someone who shares those interests. According to the report, coffee shops, bookstores, social clubs and hobby-based events are now seen as more ideal alternatives to bars and clubs for meeting potential partners. When it comes to dates, unique shared experiences involving fun—rather than a standard dinner and a movie—are key. Most airports offer uncomfortable banks of chairs that prevent stretching out, and little opportunity to relax otherwise. Some airports, however, rise above the rest when it comes to comfortable amenities that allow weary travelers to get some rest between flights. A new study by CPAP.com reveals the most sleep-friendly airports where you can catch some z’s or just chill before your flight. What makes a sleep-friendly airport? CPAP.com’s airport study looked into a variety of factors including access to massage chairs, lounges, minute suites, benches without armrests, shower facilities and more. These airports offer nap-worthy amenities and quiet spaces where you can relax and recharge. According to the study, the most sleep-friendly airport in the U.S. (bested only by Mexico City International Airport in North America) is one of the busiest. With so many travelers passing through, it’s no surprise that Los Angeles International Airport offers the most sleep-friendly accommodations. Everyone has their own idea of what makes the Best Summer Ever, whether it’s an epic road trip, an overseas adventure or a staycation lounging at a local hotel pool. According to a report by American Express, Millennials and Gen Z have big plans to make this summer a great one by seeking out memorable experiences, from concerts and festivals to meals at in-demand restaurants. For its Amex Trendex Millennial and Gen-Z Summer Spotlight Report, American Express surveyed more than 2,000 U.S. adults (an even mix of male and female Millennials and Gen Zers, GenX and Boomers) with a household income of more than $50,000. The results reveal how Millennials and Gen Zers will be prioritizing their spending and what experiences they’ll be pursuing this summer. Nearly all Millennial and Gen Z respondents—81 percent—say they have made summer travel plans. More than half (61 percent) say their travel plans revolve around spending time with friends and family. Of those who are planning a trip this summer, 62 percent are heading to a destination geared towards one specific activity, like wellness, a concert or a sporting event. Music festivals and entertainment experiences are big draws—bucket-list items worth traveling for. As far as spending goes, 70 percent of Millennial and Gen Z survey respondents say they plan to spend money on clothing or shoes specifically related to upcoming travel. What do you look for when planning a trip? Common criteria for summer vacation destinations are cities with sunny beaches, fun attractions, renowned restaurants and plenty of entertainment. But despite boasting any or all of these features, some popular destinations can be more trouble than they’re worth when it comes to summer travel. A new study by Forbes Advisor compared the 43 most populated cities in the U.S. and ranked them based on several metrics to determine the worst cities for summer travel. Forbes Advisor looked at the city experience (including hotel prices, meal prices, tour prices, crime, walkability, restaurant rankings), air travel experience (flight delays, property loss and reimbursement percentage) and driving experience (gas prices, parking, traffic data) to rank the cities. After analyzing these metrics, Forbes Advisor crowned a winner (or loser, rather): Jacksonville, Florida. Despite miles of sandy beaches and trendy neighborhoods, Jacksonville is not a top spot for a summer vacation. The city is hard to get around, ranking lowest in walkability and third lowest for public transportation. The airport has the second-highest percentage of disrupted flights. If you drive, you’ll find a dearth of parking lots and garages. Jacksonville has the eighth highest crime rate of the 43 cities, and it is among the cities with the fewest restaurants with four or more stars on Tripadvisor. If you’ve been craving an epic summer road trip, things are looking up. According to AAA, gas prices are falling and likely to stay low for a while. This is good news for travelers looking to hit the road, as lower prices at the pump mean a less expensive trip. The current average gas price is $3.48 a gallon. That’s 17 cents less than a month ago and six cents less than a year ago. This marks the biggest drop in prices all year, down eight cents from last week. “This drop in pump prices appears to have some sticking power for now,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “More states should see their averages dip below $3 a gallon in the coming weeks.” Many states have seen drastic drops in gas prices. Indiana’s average gas price dropped 17 cents in the last week. Alaska dropped 16 cents, while Illinois, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky’s gas prices all dropped 13 cents. The least expensive gas prices in the country can be found in Mississippi ($2.98), Arkansas ($3.00), Oklahoma ($3.00), Texas ($3.02), Kansas ($3.06) and Louisiana ($3.06). California currently has the highest gas prices at an average of $4.93 per gallon. Hawaii is next with $4.75 a gallon, followed by Washington State at $4.41 a gallon.
